HOW DOES OWN YOUR RACE WORK?

Aim to start your training 1 week from now, to account for building of your custom plan.

You'll receive a confirmation email, with instructions and a link to fill out a simple questionnaire for building your training plan. 
STEP 3
After receiving all your race and situation details, Feisty Fox Coaching will review where you are, figure out how to overcome your biggest obstacles and build a training plan, fitted to your unique situation. 

You can expect your custom all-in-one training plan to be ready in about 7-14 days. Or if you panning for a long lead time, then 3 days before the training plan start date you choose.

A complete plan to get you ready for your race all in one place - Training Peaks

Your custom training plan is build after you fill out a simple goal, availability and situation questionnaire. 

The training plan will give you:
  • Daily structured and customized swim, bike and run workouts based on your race goal, strengths, weaknesses, injuries, busy schedule, experience and situation

  • Strength, mobility and injury prevention exercises as needed
  • Reminders and advice during race preparation, practice race week and race week

HAVE A QUESTION?
What Own Your Race program is NOT
  • It is NOT another pre-made or automatically-made 12-week training plan that you think is gonna work, but doesn't, because of your busy schedule and unique weaknesses
  •   It is NOT dependent on "hacks" or "quick tips". If that worked, then any free training plan on the internet would've solved all your problems by now 
  •  It is NOT for people who are not motivated, who are not gonna show up and do the work. It's not for people who are not sure what race they want to do. It's not for people who are not ready to commit time and energy to their goal. 
  • It is NOT me promising you a "quick fix" or "magic pill". Anyone who sells you something "Easy" is lying and you should run very far away from them
  • It is NOT one-on-one coaching (we have that too and it's amazing but this program offers a unique race-results program, that's based on an all-in-one custom training plan plus race prep essentials). The plan will be created once for you specifically and you will take it and run with it.
What Own Your Race IS
  • ​An all-essentials-included do-it-yourself program of everything you need to get ready for your next race and finish with your best time! It includes all 5 parts of Feisty Fox racing success formula = Training plan + Nutrition + Recovery and Injury prevention + Mental Fitness + Race Strategy. 
  • How does it work? Once you compete the Own Your Race program purchase, you will immediately receive a confirmation email with instructions and a link to answer questions about your race goals and your situation. You set your own timeframe and your training plan is entirely dependent on your situation and race goals. Plan your start date about 7-14 days after your purchase, to account for your setup and custom plan creation.
  • Will this work if I have pain/or injury right now, but still want to prepare for my race? We recommend 1-on-1 coaching instead, so that the the pain/injury can be addressed and you are able to execute your training without making things worse. 
  • Is there a specific start date? No, you can start at any point, depending you when your race is and how much time you have to prepare for it. However do plan your start date about 7 days after your purchase, to account for the creation of your custom plan and setting you up with everything you need.
  •   Who will design my training plan? Your training plan will be build by a Feisty Fox Coach. All custom plans are approved and evaluated by Coach Shangrila before they are sent to you. All plans follow Coach Shangrila's proven race-results formula and are built around one underlying objective - get you to your goal safely, without having you spend a ton of time away from your family.  
  • Will Own Your Race work for me? If you are an overachiever and expect to put in consistent training to reach your goal, Own Your Race will work for you. If your schedule is super unpredictable and you need more personal support and immediate feedback as you train, One-on-One coaching is more suited for you. Also, if you are currently injured and/or undergoing some medical challenges, very close attention through One-on-One coaching is strongly recommended.   •  What if I can't train on a particular day? It’s great if you can complete 100% of your planned workouts as is, but we understand that it’s not always possible – life is unpredictable. If you can’t train for any reason, don’t worry. You can either move your sessions around within a given week (using a Premium Training Peaks account). Or just accept it as a missed workout and move onto the next one. Also, there are instances that you may need more guidance. You can post your question in the exclusive Feisty Fox Tribe FB group or ask them on the live weekly coaching calls.  
  • What if I don't have an idea of how my upcoming schedule will be or what if I have inconsistent work schedule?  First, do your best to complete the questions to show your  training availability. You will receive your customized training plan on a weekly basis so if your schedule has changed, email and let us know before your plan is made. Feisty Fox Coaching will NOT adjust your workouts if there is a change in your schedule after the plan is already created.  
  • Will I receive feedbacks on my completed workouts in Training Peaks?  No, you will not receive feedbacks on your completed workouts in Training Peaks.  However, you can always get feedback about any of your workouts and answers to your questions in the exclusive Feisty Fox Tribe FB group or by email or by attending our weekly calls.  Under Own Your Race program, you shall receive coaching support in a group setting.  If you would like to receive coach's feedbacks on your completed workouts, we recommend that you consider 1-on-1 coaching.  
  • ​​I have no idea of how to set my zones.  How do I know my targets in swimming, cycling and running?  After completion of assessment workouts, make sure that you transfer the data on a timely manner (uploading the data within 24 hours).  Once the data is uploaded, a coach will verify the results and set your zones.  Feisty Fox Coach will also review that your upcoming workouts are set to the right zones.  This will ensure that you are executing the workouts at your best ability. 
  • ​Can I export workouts to my device? Yes! If you choose the Structured Workouts Training Plan upgrade with the Workout Builder format in the ordering process. This gives you the ability to export your workouts from TrainingPeaks that are compatible with most indoor training applications like Zwift and many Garmin devices. Workouts can be exported in .ERG, .MRC, .FIT, OR. ZWO formats. Each workouts in a Workout Builder plan has been built so that you have a visual representation of the workout with interval and rest periods displayed. This enables you to follow a workout in real-time, with onscreen instructions. It’s like having your coach in the room with you! If you don't chose Structured Workouts Training Plan upgrade in the ordering process, your training plan will be built without this additional functionality.
  •  How fit do I need to be? Our training plans are built around you and your specific fitness level. You can be a beginner, intermediate, advanced or elite athlete. If you allow for a long training period (6 months) our training plans will ease you into the hard training and allow for a slower and gentler ramping up. If you have a short timeline, the ramp up will be quicker and harder.  
  • Will I be able to keep my Training Peaks plan and data after the race? Yes! Your training plan will be set up as a free Basic account in Training Peaks. You can keep and build on top of it for as long as you want to. 
  • Is this the same as Feisty Fox One-on-One coaching? No. Becoming a Feisty Fox one-on-one athlete is completely separate from Own Your Race program. It offers one-on-one support, training plan adjustments and feedback as you train each week. 
  • Can I train for multiple events? Yes! Your custom training plan will be set up to target peak fitness for your key “A” race, but it’s also a great idea to include some “B or C” races along the way to gain confidence and skill. Make sure you specify all the races you'd like to include in your plan, as you are filling out the initial form so Feisty Fox Coaching can build them into your training plan.
